9.1 miles in 1hr 52m today (Walton-on-Thames - Hampton Court Bridge)
That's pretty good (for me it's amazing). Obviously I'm getting used to running as I haven't suffered any muscle cramps or serious soreness (apart from the expected post run stiffness). I got to the point where I felt I could just keep going, it's like I felt I could run a marathon in that moment. It's obviously psychological as not long after that I hit a wall and had zero energy left to draw on, and I really starting to struggle, I felt weak, I couldn't lift my feet high enough. I even got the point where I started really losing focus and was looking for some nice raspberries to pick! The last half mile I seemed to find a hidden 10% so I was able to pick up the pace and run like I meant it for the last stretch. I think the lesson from this is to eat or drink something very high energy before the run.
I've planned a 10mile route for the weekend.
I'm going to start making a note of my weight after a run, just out of interest.
82 kg (180.7lbs).
